Maglock or strike: do not mix them on an escape door
A maglock drops on power loss — right for escape. A strike often holds — right for a store. Mix them on one escape leaf and the fire file is wrong.
Door packages often say “electric lock” once for the building. An escape stair and a document store must not share a model. A maglock holds on power and drops when power dies — the route opens. A strike or bolt often stays locked on power loss — right for a store, wrong for escape.
Read the fire file and the access file together. Escape: the lock the fire consultant wrote, standby power, a break-glass, a fire-release contact. Do not take a generic access kit and leave it fail-secure.
