Choose a plant-room rack: depth, load, airflow
42U racks: 800 mm or 1000 mm depth, static load, front-to-rear airflow. Fit for switches and rack UPS.
42U is not enough if the depth is wrong
Small rooms often get a 600 mm-deep cabinet. Core switches, 2U servers and current rack UPS units usually need 800 mm or 1000 mm of usable depth. The rear door will not close and the power cords jam — then the cabinet is changed.
Read usable depth (not including doors), static load (UPS and batteries add up) and airflow (front intake, rear exhaust; do not park the rear against a wall). Rails, cage nuts and blanking panels are separate lines. Rack UPS
