BACnet and Modbus when you buy a BMS gateway
When a chiller already speaks BACnet or Modbus, and when you still need a gateway. Read the point list first.
Two open protocols, not two “BMS brands”
BACnet is common on central plant and BMS software. Modbus is common on meters, drives and some chillers. A gateway is only useful if the two sides do not already share a standard, a baud rate and a point map.
